Alleged confession of son of member of Tucanes de Tijuana drummer says he admitted to participating in kidnapping

An alleged confession of of the son of a member of a Tucanes de Tijuana drummer says he admitted to participating in a kidnapping and was paid $200 to do so. David Servín Rodríguez, 31, is the son of Tucanes de Tijuana drummer David Servín. Also detained in the case were Alfredo " El Clipper" Alvarado Orozco, Marco Iran Ortiz Martínez, Víctor Iván Rodríguez Villa, and Jesús Heriberto Arballo Burgara. David Servín Rodríguez, also known as "El Gordo," said he also is a musician. Frontera reported that he previously spent two years in prison for weapons possession. The paper said David Servín Rodríguez allegedly used a gun in the Oct. 5 kidnapping, in which a $25,000 ransom was sought.

Five killed during week in Tijuana

Five people were killed during the week ending Oct. 21 in Tijuana, Frontera's Insecurity Barometer reported. There were 25 vehicle robberies and 24 people detained with drugs. One was a photojournalist and website founder, apparently killed as a result of an argument with a website colleague who also was in a relationship with the photojournalist's daughter.
